|What to Expect|
Taking the first step towards starting psychotherapy involves a careful commitment of time, energy, and financial resources. When searching for and selecting a new psychotherapist, it is advised to carefully consider the different treatment options and clinicians available. Here, you will find a "road map" of the process of psychotherapy, from the initial contact to the first session and beyond. In order to find a good "fit", you will also find a list of helpful questions to ask potential therapists.
Finding a Good Fit
The quality of the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important aspects of psychotherapy. Therapy can only work well if there is a good "fit" between client and therapist. Therefore, in both the initial phone call, and first in-person consultation, I work with each prospective client to assess the potential for a good working relationship.
